The Grand Fair market bustled with all activities of commerce and trade in the growing capitol in the heart of England. The morning rain had patted down the dust from the many travelers going to and coming from the local shops and exotic caravans that had travelled into the city from lands far away from Tamworth.
A young boy stood up against the well and watched as the many people walked around in small talk, or conversations concerning the days business.
He notices a small stand nearby that had held various potteries, but it stood empty now. He climbed up on top of the sturdy, wooden stand, and with his loudest voice that he could muster he yelled at the top of his lungs for all that could hear and would pay heed to his words.
"Hear ye, Hear ye! Lords, ladies and noblemen of the Houses of England! Our King, Erwan of England has cast his lot in with the great Kings of the known world and has declared his candidacy to be Emperor! Tell your maids and servants to pass along these words to every noble house across the land. Tell your ships captains to pass along to lands far and abroad that an election will take place and the Kings and Princes are all invited to cast their lot into the fold and proclaim with one voice the name of our new Emperor!"
The boy was quickly grabbed up and squeezed for more information about his news, but the boy could only smile. He quickly dashed off towards a bakery as he fidgeted for the hefty coin purse hidden within the folds of his shirt.
Many people started speaking at once and the crowds excitement seemed to ripple through the streets.
Shopkeepers began closing up and putting away their stores as if a storm of the ages was coming to bear down upon them. In an instant the streets had all but cleared and the message that the young lad had delivered began it's journey to the far corners of the world.
As if it were orchestrated with flawless ingenuity a lone knight emerged from the far end of The Grand Fair and signaled to the men behind him that the way was clear.
His horse began to trot forward as the royal caravan emerged from behind him and England's King began his march toward a new age that was yet to begin...
