Cloth
Real natural fabrics can give the best results, and organic cotton is generally accepted as the classic shirt fabric, being light, airy and cool in hot weather. Silk cotton shirt fabric comes in a vast variety of qualities - shoot for a good two fold silk cotton with a yarn count number of at least 75 for a soft textile with a great gloss. Singles cotton is available at a lower cost but is more vulnerable to pilling. Linen tshirts are also a good alternative for the summer time season as they continue to be extremely cool on hot summer afternoons.
Color White colored remains the classic tee shirt colour for formal events. Originally worn to reveal that the wearer could afford to wash his shirt before every using, this tradition has transported on today and is the default choice for all formal shirts. Cream can even be worn on these occasions.
For less formal shirts, the choice is wide open. Stripes can flatter the wearer, and checks are great in less formal summer wear.
